This Week!!

What a week!  We’re preparing for our Fashion Show Luncheon at the fabulous Spago on November 4th and very few seats remain.  Tomorrow night is Kendall Tenney’s 5K Run For a Wish ‘Team Captain’s Kick-Off’ at Town Square.  Special thanks to California Pizza Kitchen who are providing dinner for our Team Captains who raise an incredible amount of funds to make wishes come true.

For staff, its audit week (yikes, the red tape!) but to remind us why we have to deal with all of the paperwork, enjoy photos of our very own Make-A-Wish star performing with Jennifer Hudson on Saturday.  AJ’s wish was to record his own CD and watching him sing at the Andre Agassi event with his heroine Jennifer brought tears to my eyes.  We love AJ and are proud for all he has achieved.

Busy Week!!

Last Saturday was our strategic planning day when our wonderful Board members got together with Managers to plan for our year ahead.  Most importantly,  despite the economy we will continue our medical outreach in an effort to reach every eligibile child and combat those increased costs by seeking out more donated product and services.  So we need your help!  Three cheers for Red Horse Squadron at Nellis who recently helped us install a playground, along with Hubba, Matt and Fred.

Our wish granting staff have had a very tough week, with four 'rush' wishes.  Doctors have informed us these children are in very fragile condition and we know we must do our utmost for them at this time.

For Development staff, its all about Jack's Wish to be Spider-Man next Monday and we just heard Criss Angel will grace the red carpet as a Spidey fan.  Whatta guy!  Criss has granted 25 wishes and now he will take part in Jack's movie premiere. Hope you can join us too and share in the power of a wish!

This Week!!

Our Staff having a little fun with the Elvi and Carrot Top at the Las Vegas Hilton

We’re busy as bees closing out our fiscal year, celebrating 149 magical wishes for the wonderful children we serve and the families who love them.  I’m very lucky to work with such a fabulous team of staff, they’re clever, compassionate and dedicated – all of them!  Sadly, we must ask you all to say a prayer for the wish child we lost this week, we are thankful we were able to grant Ivan’s wish in time. Our hearts ache for his family and the loss of this precious life.

As we prepare for Jack’s Wish to be Spider-Man we hope you’ll all join us to cheer him along the red carpet at the Las Vegas Hilton and enjoy his 5 minute movie, followed by the ‘Oscars’.  Jack is doing great, he is well recovered and will grow up to be a Super Hero!
